The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the commencement of inter-regional and inter/intra-district staff re-postings for the 2026 academic year.
In a circular dated June 3, 2026, and signed by the Director of Human Resource Management and Development (HRMD), Angela Frimpomaa Nkansah, management directed all Regional, Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Directors of Education to begin processing applications in line with established procedures.
According to the schedule, issuance of assurances to eligible applicants began on Wednesday, June 3, and will close on June 17. Regional offices are expected to process inter-regional re-posting applications between June 17 and June 30, with the final deadline for all re-postings set for August 31, 2026. Approved applications will take effect from the start of the next academic year in September.
The GES emphasized that staff seeking re-posting can only be released after the Director-General has approved and issued an official re-posting letter. Regional Directors have been instructed to compile and forward lists of staff granted assurances to the HRMD Secretariat at the GES Headquarters in Accra to expedite the process.
Management underscored its commitment to ensuring transparency and efficiency in the re-posting exercise, urging cooperation from all stakeholders.
