Vice President Encourages Confidence as BECE Begins

The Vice President of Ghana, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has extended warm wishes to candidates sitting for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), urging them to approach the tests with confidence and determination.

In a statement issued on Monday from Jubilee House, Accra, the Vice President expressed optimism that students across the country would perform to the best of their abilities after years of preparation, discipline, and hard work.

“Government extends best wishes to all students writing the BECE this week,” the statement read, adding that candidates should remain honest and focused throughout the examination period.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang also commended the Ghana Education Service, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders for their commitment to preparing students for the examination. She emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of fairness and transparency during the process.

The Vice President further called on supervisors, invigilators, and school authorities to uphold integrity to ensure a credible examination outcome.

The statement was signed by Ama Pratt, Press Secretary and Spokesperson at the Office of the Vice President.

The BECE is a key national examination that determines students’ progression into senior high school, making it a critical milestone in Ghana’s education system.
