President John Dramani Mahama joined the Men’s Ministry of the Ringway Assemblies of God Church on Saturday for a fellowship programme with inmates of the Nsawam Medium Security Prison.
The Ministry presented assorted food items to support the welfare of prisoners, including 250 bags of rice, 50 bags each of maize, gari, and sugar, 30 gallons of cooking oil, 50 cartons of tomato paste, 50 cartons of spaghetti, and 50 boxes of sardines.
The fellowship featured praise, worship, and ministration led by the Men’s Ministry. In his sermon, Reverend Benjamin Tettey, Head Pastor of Ringway Gospel Centre Assemblies of God Church, encouraged inmates not to lose hope, urging them to embrace repentance, reform, and faith in Christ for renewal.
President Mahama underscored the importance of compassion and care for prisoners, pledging to improve sporting facilities in the prisons. He also assured inmates that the Lordina Foundation would support their health needs.
The delegation inspected ongoing projects at the Nsawam facility, including a 5,000-layer poultry project and an 800-capacity remand prison, both aimed at reducing congestion and improving rehabilitation opportunities.
