The Ghana High Commission in Pretoria has issued a public advisory urging members of the Ghanaian community to exercise heightened vigilance and prioritize personal safety in light of planned demonstrations by the March Organisation.

The demonstrations, scheduled for today, are expected to take place in Pretoria as the group marches to the Presidency to present grievances on immigration matters. In its notice, the High Commission advised shop owners to close their businesses for the day and cautioned community members to avoid areas where protests or public gatherings may occur.
The advisory further encouraged individuals to maintain a low profile and act with discretion both in public spaces and online platforms, warning against sharing content that could be perceived as provocative or inflammatory. “I urge everyone to continue exercising heightened vigilance and to place the highest priority on personal safety during this period,” the statement read.
The High Commission assured that any further updates would be communicated as necessary, underscoring its commitment to safeguarding the welfare of Ghanaian nationals in South Africa.
