Ghana, Sierra Leone Hold Technical Session to Deepen Bilateral Cooperation

 Senior officials from Ghana and Sierra Leone convened in Accra on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, for the Technical Session of the Permanent Joint Commission for Cooperation (PJCC), reaffirming their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.

Delivering her remarks, Ambassador Khadija Iddrisu, Chief Director of Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Co-Chairperson of the session, recalled the historical ties between the two nations, built on mutual respect and cooperation. She noted that the meeting marked the activation of a mechanism established in 2013 to provide a structured platform for dialogue. Ambassador Khadija emphasized the importance of focusing on priority sectors including trade and investment, defence and security, agriculture, energy, and health.

On his part, Mr. Alan C.E. Logan, Director-General of Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Co-Chairperson, described the session as a critical step in translating the shared vision of the two leaders into tangible outcomes. He reiterated Sierra Leone’s commitment to strengthening economic partnerships and highlighted the importance of leveraging Ghana’s experience in agriculture to drive mutual growth.

The session reflects the determination of both countries to deepen cooperation and promote sustainable development through structured engagement and practical collaboration.
