The Chairman of Parliament’s Energy Committee, Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, has lauded the Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company (GCMC) for its renewed efforts to revitalize operations and enhance performance.
Speaking during a working visit, Hon. Bedzrah noted that the company has embarked on measures to retool its facilities and restore full productivity. He revealed that GCMC has already secured a contract to export products to the West African market and currently commands an estimated 30 percent share of the domestic market.
The Committee, he said, will submit recommendations to the Ministry of Finance to expedite approval processes for funding support to sustain the company’s growth.
Ranking Member of the Committee, Hon. George Aboagye, emphasized the importance of increased investment in the sector, stressing that expanding companies like GCMC is vital to achieving Ghana’s long-term energy security goals.
The Committee’s endorsement is expected to boost confidence in the company’s turnaround strategy and reinforce its role in Ghana’s energy sector.
