President John Dramani Mahama joined the Gonjaland Youth Association in Buipe to mark its 50th Anniversary, reaffirming government’s commitment to the development of the Savannah Region.
Addressing participants, the President outlined key interventions in the education sector, including plans to establish STEM schools in Tinga and Busunu, expand infrastructure across Senior High Schools, and upgrade selected Category B schools to Category A status.
Underscoring the transformative role of education, President Mahama stated, “Education is the bridge between where we are and where we aspire to be.”
Beyond education, the President announced plans for a modern sports stadium in the region, as well as the construction of 24-hour markets in every district. These initiatives, he explained, are designed to drive job creation, support businesses, and expand economic opportunities, particularly for the youth.
The anniversary celebration brought together traditional leaders, youth groups, and stakeholders from across the Savannah Region, highlighting the importance of unity and collective effort in advancing regional development.
