Ghana Condemns Drone Attack in Dubai Injuring Two Nationals

The Government of Ghana has strongly condemned a drone attack near Dubai International Airport that left two Ghanaian nationals injured earlier today.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, authorities confirmed that the incident occurred in the vicinity of the airport and posed serious risks to civilian lives and critical infrastructure. The Ministry described the attack as “an act that endangers public safety and underscores the importance of protecting civilians and vital international transport hubs.”

Ghana’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, together with officials from the Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate in Dubai, visited the injured nationals at the hospital. Their injuries were reported as non-critical, and both are expected to make a full recovery.

The Ministry assured the public that consular assistance is being extended to the victims and that Ghana is collaborating closely with UAE authorities to monitor the situation. It also reiterated the government’s commitment to safeguarding the welfare of Ghanaian citizens abroad.

Additionally, Ghana is actively supporting ongoing consultations at the United Nations aimed at passing a resolution for the cessation of hostilities. The Ministry urged Ghanaian nationals in the Gulf region to remain vigilant and comply with directives issued by Ghanaian diplomatic missions and local authorities.

This latest development highlights Ghana’s proactive role in international diplomacy while reinforcing its responsibility to protect citizens wherever they may be.
