President Mahama Calls for National Reset at Independence Day Parade

President John Dramani Mahama has urged Ghanaians to embrace a bold transformation of governance and production as the nation marked its 69th Independence Day. Addressing the parade, the President declared that his administration’s mandate was not merely to manage challenges but to “reset our nation” by reshaping how prosperity is created and shared.

Reflecting on Ghana’s historic journey, Mahama invoked the legacy of Kwame Nkrumah, noting that independence was more than political freedom. “Nkrumah did not only grant us independence; he awaken within us a sense of consciousness and a continental purpose,” the President said. He paid tribute to the United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC), the Convention People’s Party (CPP), and countless unsung patriots whose sacrifices altered the course of African history.

The President’s remarks underscored a vision of renewal rooted in Ghana’s founding ideals, calling on citizens to carry forward the spirit of unity, resilience, and continental leadership that has defined the nation’s place in Africa and the world.
