A high-level delegation from the Office of the Leader of the Opposition in the Parliament of Uganda has commenced a five-day benchmarking tour in Ghana, aimed at deepening institutional learning and strengthening legislative practices.

The delegation was received by the Clerk-to-Parliament of Ghana, Mr. Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, along with senior management of the Parliamentary Service. The visit is part of a strategic effort to explore how Ghana’s Parliamentary Service fosters a vibrant and effective legislature within a multiparty democratic framework.

During their engagement, both teams held discussions on shared institutional priorities, including enhancing parliamentary capacity in multiparty systems, improving committee operations, advancing legislative research, boosting public engagement, and accelerating digitization efforts.
The visit is expected to facilitate meaningful knowledge exchange and bolster the Ugandan opposition’s ability to perform its oversight and legislative functions more effectively. It also underscores the growing importance of inter-parliamentary collaboration in promoting democratic governance across Africa.
