Parliament To Mark  One-Year  Anniversary  Of Ninth Session

The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has announced plans to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the Ninth Parliament, describing the occasion as an opportunity to reflect on lessons learnt and strengthen the institution for the future.

Speaking at the opening of proceedings, the Speaker emphasized that the milestone offers renewed focus, responsibility, and commitment to serving the nation. He noted that the First Session of the Ninth Parliament had made steady progress in fulfilling its constitutional mandate, attributing recent achievements to the collective contributions of Members, parliamentary leadership, committees, staff of the Parliamentary Service, and civil society partners.

Mr. Bagbin praised the spirit of cooperation that has characterized parliamentary work, stressing that the successes recorded were the result of shared effort.

Joining the Speaker in welcoming Members back to the House, Hon. Mahama Ayariga and Minority Leader Hon. Alexander Kwamena Afenyo Markin delivered statements underscoring the importance of unity and collaboration in advancing the work of Parliament.

The anniversary celebrations are expected to highlight Parliament’s role in deepening democracy and strengthening governance in Ghana.
