The Chief Justice, His Lordship Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, has urged Ghanaians to embrace integrity as a way of life, describing it as the bedrock of justice, public trust, and national development.
He made the call at the official launch of the National Integrity Awards Scheme at Parliament House on Monday, July 27, 2026. The scheme, themed “Promoting Integrity, Celebrating Ethical Leadership and Inspiring National Development,” seeks to honour individuals and institutions that exemplify honesty, accountability, and ethical leadership.
Justice Baffoe-Bonnie stressed that integrity means choosing to do the right thing even at personal cost. “While individuals pay the price for integrity, the nation bears the cost of corruption,” he cautioned, adding that public confidence in the Judiciary depends on the consistent practice of honesty and accountability.
Welcoming the initiative, the Chief Justice said the awards would encourage ethical leadership and inspire more citizens to choose integrity in their daily lives. He pledged the Judiciary’s full support for efforts aimed at strengthening accountability and deepening public trust in Ghana’s institutions.
