Government has reaffirmed its commitment to transforming Ghana’s industrial sector through reliable energy, digital innovation, local value addition, and targeted support for strategic industries.
Delivering a keynote address at the 2026 Ghana Industrial Summit & Exhibition (GISE), Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Sampson Ahi, speaking on behalf of Sector Minister Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu‑Adjare, said government was shifting from policy formulation to implementation. He highlighted initiatives targeting textiles and garments, pharmaceuticals, automotive components, and agribusiness as central to the country’s industrialisation drive.
Hon. Ahi noted that Ghana’s economic recovery provided a strong foundation for industrial growth, citing a rise in foreign direct investment from $652 million in 2024 to $2.62 billion in 2025, alongside 6 per cent real GDP growth in 2025. He added that flagship programmes such as the 24‑Hour Economy, Rapid Industrialisation for Jobs Initiative, and Feed the Industry Programme were designed to boost production, create jobs, and enhance Ghana’s export competitiveness.
The President of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Dr. Pharma Kofi Nsiah‑Poku, called for policy consistency, regulatory clarity, and improved access to industrial financing. He urged stakeholders to translate summit discussions into concrete actions to address energy challenges, promote digital transformation, and strengthen Ghana’s export strategy.
The European Union Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Rune Skinnebach, expressed the EU’s interest in seeing more “Made in Ghana” products on European markets. He reaffirmed the EU’s commitment to supporting Ghana’s industrial ambitions and helping local businesses access international markets.
The ninth edition of GISE, organised by the AGI, brought together government, businesses, and development partners to promote investment, innovation, and export‑led industrial growth.
