President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, cut sod for the construction of the $1.3 billion Sentuo Airport Garden City Project, a landmark mixed‑use development set to transform the Airport City enclave of Accra.
The ambitious project will deliver 582 premium apartments, a 600‑room hotel, a 2,500‑capacity conference facility, healthcare services, a shopping mall, landscaped gardens, and a range of commercial and leisure amenities. Officials say the development is poised to generate significant economic opportunities through investment inflows, job creation, and increased demand for local goods and services across multiple sectors.
President Mahama, joined by senior government officials, underscored the project’s importance to Ghana’s economic transformation agenda. He described the initiative as a strategic boost to investment confidence and a catalyst for growth in the country’s urban infrastructure.
Among the dignitaries present was the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu‑Adjare, who lauded the investors for their confidence in Ghana’s economy. She described the project as a vital addition to the nation’s expanding portfolio of private‑sector investments and praised President Mahama for his continued support of initiatives aimed at accelerating economic transformation, promoting investment, and creating opportunities for Ghanaians.
