The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Ghana has announced the upcoming Fugu & Kente Exhibition in Lusaka, Zambia, as part of efforts to deepen cultural and economic cooperation between the two nations. Scheduled for March 6–8, 2026, the exhibition will showcase Ghana’s iconic Fugu and Kente fabrics alongside Zambia’s rich cultural heritage, highlighting the role of traditional attire in promoting Pan-African identity.
Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, described the initiative as a milestone in Ghana-Zambia relations. “This is not only great for Economic Diplomacy, Cultural Diplomacy and Pan-Africanism; it is absolutely fantastic for Ghana-Zambia relations,” he said in a statement.
Organized by Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) and the Ghana High Commission in Lusaka, the exhibition will be held at the Lusaka Showgrounds. It aims to foster trade opportunities, cultural exchange, and unity through the celebration of African personality and heritage.
Officials say the event underscores Ghana’s commitment to advancing Pan-Africanism by using culture as a bridge for diplomacy and development. The exhibition is expected to attract policymakers, business leaders, and cultural enthusiasts from across the continent, reinforcing the shared vision of African unity.
