The Ministry of Education has strongly condemned acts of violence involving students from two schools in the Central Region, following the circulation of viral videos capturing the incidents.
In a statement issued today, the Ministry described the behavior as unacceptable and assured the public that swift action is being taken. The Director General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has been directed to investigate the matter. He is scheduled to meet this morning at 10 a.m. with the Central Regional Director of GES, district directors in whose jurisdictions the schools are located, and the heads of the affected schools at the GES headquarters in Accra.
Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum and the Ministry emphasized their serious view of the incidents, warning that those found culpable will face the most severe sanctions.
The Ministry reiterated its commitment to maintaining discipline and safeguarding the welfare of students across the country, stressing that violence has no place in Ghana’s educational institutions.
