The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted thirty officers to their next ranks in recognition of their distinguished conduct during recent high-profile operations in the Ashanti Region.

The promotions honour the officers’ professionalism, vigilance, and commitment to duty, particularly in two major operations: the retrieval of 2,600 rounds of AK-47 ammunition at the Kantanso Asankare Police Barrier, and the dismantling of a robbery syndicate along the Antoakrom–Manso Nkwanta stretch during the Christmas season.
Among those promoted for their role in the Kantanso Asankare operation are C/Inspr Tibim Acheampong Solomon, Inspr Sarfo Adu Daniel, G/L Cpl Saeed Frimpong, G/Const Sremsei Simon, PW/Const Kissi Dorcas Serwaah, G/Const Arthur Emmanuel Nkrumah, G/Const Dennis Danquah, G/Const Philip Lawer Nyarko, G/Const Owusu Kenneth, and G/Const Christian Buaben Kwadzo Addo.

During the operation, officers uncovered two concealed containers holding 2,600 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, along with a bag hidden under the driver’s seat containing two bulletproof plates, a crushed helmet, and a pair of long boots.
Additionally, twenty personnel from the Intelligence Department of the Ashanti and Ashanti South Regional Police Commands were promoted for their roles in intelligence-led operations at Manso Nkwanta, Antoakrom, and surrounding areas. These operations led to the recovery of firearms and ammunition, disrupted armed robbery activities, and prevented planned attacks on commuters.
The IGP and members of the Police Management Board (POMAB) commended the officers for their courage and alertness, stressing that their actions prevented dangerous weapons from falling into criminal hands. Mr. Yohuno urged all personnel to continue demonstrating the highest standards of professionalism, assuring that the Police Administration will acknowledge, appreciate, and reward hard work.
