Air Force Officer Arrested for Alleged Assault at Burma Camp Pharmacy

A Ghana Air Force officer, Warrant Officer Class One (WO1) Mensah Williams, has been arrested by military police following an alleged assault on a young woman and a pharmacist at Burma Camp earlier this week.

Sources within the Ghana Armed Forces confirmed that WO1 Williams, reportedly attached to the Office of the Chief of Staff, confronted the victims inside a pharmacy located within the military base. The incident, described by eyewitnesses as unprovoked, left both individuals visibly distressed.

A video of the altercation, now circulating widely on social media, shows a tall, dark-complexioned man aggressively confronting the pharmacist before slapping him. The footage then captures the soldier turning on a female customer, striking her repeatedly in the head after she attempted to record the incident on her phone.

Military police responded swiftly, arresting WO1 Williams shortly after the attack. He has since been transferred to the Cantonments Police Station for further investigation and potential prosecution.

While the Ghana Armed Forces have yet to release an official statement, internal sources suggest that disciplinary proceedings will be initiated if the officer is found guilty of misconduct.

The incident has sparked renewed public concern over the conduct of uniformed personnel, with many calling for stricter enforcement of disciplinary measures to uphold the integrity and professionalism of the Armed Forces.
