NPP Won’t Publish Full Post-Election Report – Oppong Nkrumah

A member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Constitutional and Legal Committee and Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi ,Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has defended the party’s decision not to publish its full post-election report.

Speaking in an interview on Channel One TV, he explained that the document contains highly sensitive content, including internal strategies, post-election assessments, and what he described as “trade secrets”elements the party considers crucial to safeguarding its political future.

“No, we will not be publishing that report to the general public. Political parties don’t do that because it also contains some trade secrets, sensitive information. So no political party does that,” Oppong Nkrumah clarified.

He emphasized that it is not standard practice either in Ghana or internationally for political parties to release such detailed internal documents following elections. Instead, the NPP has made available a summary version of the report, which it believes sufficiently captures the major findings and recommendations.

According to Oppong Nkrumah, the summary has already begun to inform internal reforms within the party. He also rejected claims that the NPP has failed to reflect on its electoral defeat, asserting that serious introspection has taken place at both the national and grassroots levels.

“It is not true that we have not done serious introspection on the report,” the former Information Minister stated, adding that the party is actively working to rebuild and strengthen its internal structures.
