The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced the commencement of a nationwide revenue mobilization exercise from Monday, June 16, 2025, to Friday, June 27, 2025.
This initiative aims to recover unpaid electricity bills across various sectors, including residential, commercial, industrial users, and government institutions such as Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
In a statement released on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, ECG emphasized the urgency of the exercise, urging all customers with outstanding debts to settle their bills promptly to avoid disconnection and additional charges for reconnection.
The company has deployed special monitoring teams to oversee the process, ensuring compliance and taking action against individuals attempting to interfere with the exercise or illegally reconnect power after disconnection.
ECG has issued a strong warning that unauthorized reconnections and obstruction of the process are illegal and punishable by law. Customers are advised to cooperate fully to avoid penalties.
This revenue mobilization drive forms part of ECG’s broader effort to enhance service delivery, stabilize operations, and improve efficiency in power distribution across Ghana.
The company reassures customers that funds collected during the exercise will support critical infrastructure improvements and maintenance to ensure a more reliable electricity supply.
