Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the former head of the National Signals Bureau, remains in custody despite completing the court’s seven-day remand directive.
Initially remanded on May 2 over allegations of witness tampering, Adu-Boahene faces charges including stealing, money laundering, and causing financial loss to the state. However, on May 13, his lawyer, Samuel Atta Akyea, revealed in court that his client had been rearrested on a separate matter immediately after the initial remand period expired.
Though details of the fresh arrest remain undisclosed, the Attorney General had previously indicated that Adu-Boahene was under investigation for an internet connectivity case at Ghana Water Limited.
Meanwhile, regarding the ongoing case of the alleged GH¢49.1 million diversion, the judge has scheduled a case management conference for May 26. The state has already filed all witness statements, with a deadline of May 20 to disclose them to the defense.
