The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of 36 suspects in connection with the lynching of a police officer at Gindabour in the Savannah Region.
According to a statement issued by the Regional Police Headquarters in Damongo, the incident occurred when the officer was attacked by a mob following a confrontation. Reinforcement teams were immediately deployed to restore order, leading to the arrests.
The Regional Police Commander, DCOP David A. Adjem, condemned the attack and stressed that such acts of violence against law enforcement personnel will not be tolerated. He assured that all suspects will face justice as investigations continue.
The Service reiterated its commitment to protecting officers in the line of duty and called on the public to cooperate with ongoing inquiries to ensure accountability.
