NHIA Launches Digital Knowledge Centre To Strengthen Staff Capacity

The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has launched its Digital Knowledge Centre at the NHIA Head Office in Accra, providing staff with a central platform to support continuous learning, knowledge sharing and professional development.

The launch, held on Monday, August 17, 2026, was streamed live to enable staff across the country to witness the event and share their views. Directors of the various directorates, Deputy Directors, Regional Directors, members of various committees and other staff were present at the event.

Speaking at the launch, the Chief Executive of the NHIA, Dr Victor Asare Bampoe, described the occasion as an important milestone for the Authority, emphasising that a strong and high-performing institution must remain a learning organisation.

Dr Bampoe said the Knowledge Centre would provide staff with opportunities to continuously acquire new knowledge, develop their capabilities and improve the way they work. He expressed excitement about the platform’s potential and commended staff for their enthusiasm during the pilot phase, which recorded more than 5,000 registrations since June 2026.

He thanked the Deputy Chief Executives, Directors, committees, staff and technical partners, particularly Promo Central, for their contributions towards the development of the platform, and subsequently officially launched the Knowledge Centre, urging all staff to take full advantage of the learning portal.

Earlier, the Deputy Chief Executive in charge of Administration and Human Resources, Mr Raphael Segkpeb, described the initiative as a major milestone in strengthening staff capacity and promoting a culture of continuous learning across the Authority. He acknowledged the collective efforts of the Steering Committee, Technical Working Group, Content Development Focal Persons and other staff who contributed to the initiative.

A demonstration by Promo Central highlighted key features of the platform, including course management, policy management, quizzes, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits, webinars, health and wellness tips, learner progress tracking and secure certificates with QR codes for authentication.

The launch marks another significant step in NHIA’s digital transformation, providing staff nationwide with a central platform to learn, share knowledge and continuously build the skills needed to deliver effectively on the Authority’s mandate.
