Bawumia Appeals for Calm and Cooperation Amid Flood Crisis

Former Vice President of Ghana and the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2028 presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has extended his sympathies to victims of the devastating floods that have displaced thousands across the country.

In a heartfelt message shared on social media Monday morning, Dr. Bawumia expressed sorrow over the widespread destruction and loss of life. “My thoughts and prayers are with the thousands of our people affected by the floods. My deepest sympathies to those who have lost their loved ones, properties, and those who have been forced out of their homes,” he wrote.

The former Vice President urged citizens to comply with government directives and cooperate with institutions tasked with managing the crisis. He also appealed to emergency services and relevant authorities to intensify efforts to reach affected communities and provide relief.

“We will get through this difficult time by caring for one another. May God bless our homeland Ghana,” Dr. Bawumia added.

The floods, triggered by days of heavy rainfall, have left several communities submerged, with rescue operations ongoing. Emergency agencies are working to provide shelter, food, and medical assistance to displaced families.

As the nation grapples with the disaster, Dr. Bawumia’s call underscores the importance of unity and resilience in confronting one of Ghana’s most pressing humanitarian challenges.
