President John Dramani Mahama was today accorded a ceremonial welcome at the Belarusian Presidential Palace, where he held bilateral discussions with President Alexander Lukashenko as part of his State Visit to the Republic of Belarus.

The high-level engagements culminated in the signing of three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) designed to deepen cooperation between Ghana and Belarus in key sectors of mutual interest

The agreements cover the establishment of a Joint Commission for Cooperation in Trade and Economic Affairs, enhanced collaboration between the respective Chambers of Commerce of both countries, and cooperation in the field of agriculture.

The MoUs were signed on behalf of Ghana by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa; Ghana’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Mr. Jehu Appiah; and the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Hon. Eric Opoku.

President Mahama emphasized that the agreements reflect the shared commitment of Ghana and Belarus to expand economic opportunities, strengthen bilateral relations, and advance cooperation in sectors that support sustainable growth and development.
