OSP Refutes Reports of Court Clearance in MIIF Corruption Probe

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has dismissed media reports suggesting that businessman Nana Yaw Duodu, popularly known as Dr. Sledge of Godridge Ghana Limited, has been cleared of corruption charges by a court.

In a statement issued yesterday, the OSP clarified that no criminal charges have been filed against Dr. Sledge, and therefore no court has ruled on his guilt or innocence. The office emphasized that investigations into the operations of the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) between 2020 and 2024 remain ongoing.

The probe, which involves approximately USD 94 million, has already led to the freezing of assets belonging to Dr. Sledge. In 2025, vehicles valued at GHC18 million were seized. However, in January 2026, the High Court refused to confirm the asset freezing order. The OSP says it is pursuing legal steps to nullify that refusal and secure the assets, which remain under its authority and protection.

The statement further noted that the OSP is actively tracing additional assets linked to the MIIF operations, with the aim of freezing them as part of the investigation.

“The public is assured that any person against whom sufficient evidence is found will be arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction,” the release concluded.

The OSP urged media outlets to avoid misleading headlines and to rely on official updates as the investigation progresses.
