The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has disbursed GH¢281.66 million in claims to health service providers nationwide under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
The payment, announced in an official statement, brings total reimbursements for the year to GH¢1.64 billion, underscoring the Authority’s commitment to regular and timely payments to health facilities.
According to the NHIA, the latest disbursement includes GH¢122,734,138.46 to public facilities, representing 43.58 percent of the total; GH¢104,504,883.03 to private facilities, accounting for 37.1 percent; and GH¢54,419,659.30 to mission facilities, making up 19.32 percent.
Chief Executive Dr. Victor Asare Bampoe reaffirmed the Authority’s dedication to ensuring uninterrupted quality healthcare delivery through consistent reimbursements. He emphasized that timely payments remain central to sustaining confidence in the NHIS and enabling facilities to provide essential services to citizens.
The statement was issued by the Corporate Affairs Directorate of the NHIA, with the tagline “Your access to healthcare” highlighting the Authority’s mission to guarantee equitable health coverage across Ghana.
