The Ministry of Education has announced a rescheduling of the release date for the 2026/2027 Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) results, shifting the date from Monday, 31st August to Friday, 4th September 2026.
The decision follows appeals from parents, guardians, students, and Heads of Schools for additional time to complete the submission and uploading of student data onto the platforms of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the CSSPS.
According to the Ministry, the extension is intended to ensure that all qualified students are properly captured in the system for placement into Senior High Schools (SHS) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions. Official data indicates that about 20,000 qualified students have yet to have their school choices uploaded.
The Ministry has urged stakeholders to take advantage of the four‑day extension to submit all outstanding information, stressing that the adjustment is aimed at preventing eligible students from being excluded from the placement process.
Press Secretary Hashmin Mohammed reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to a fair, transparent, and efficient placement exercise, assuring that every qualified student will be given a meaningful opportunity to secure admission into SHS or TVET institutions.
