President John Dramani Mahama has sworn in two new Cabinet Ministers, charging them to serve with integrity, humility, and a firm commitment to the people of Ghana.
At a ceremony in Accra, the President administered the oaths of office to Mahama Ayariga, appointed Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, and Dr. Zanetor Agyeman‑Rawlings, named Minister for Environment, Science and Technology.
Reminding them that public office is “a privilege and not a right,” President Mahama stressed that the oaths were not mere formalities but solemn commitments to uphold the Constitution and place national interest above personal or political considerations.
“The Ghanaian people expect results. They expect integrity, accessibility, and accountability. They expect public officials to listen to them and act with urgency,” he said. He urged the new ministers to be firm when firmness is required, but to remain humble, respect institutions under their leadership, and manage public resources prudently.
The President emphasized that every decision taken must withstand the test of legality, fairness, and public interest, underscoring his administration’s focus on transparency and service delivery.
