The Ghana Education Service (GES) has declared Friday, September 25, 2026 as National Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Day, under the theme “Assessment in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Empowering Teachers to Assess Learning.”
In a circular signed by Prof. Smile Dzisi (Mrs.), Deputy Director‑General (MS), for the Director‑General, the Service directed all Regional Directors to disseminate the information to Metropolitan, Municipal and District Directors, Regional Managers of Education Units, and Heads of Schools.
The GES emphasised the need for full participation and successful implementation of CPD activities, urging regional offices to coordinate the necessary arrangements.
The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to build teacher capacity and align assessment practices with emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, in Ghana’s education system.
The Service expressed confidence that the CPD Day will provide educators with practical tools and insights to strengthen learning outcomes nationwide.
