The Domestic Violence Secretariat (DVS) of the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has convened the Second Quarter Meeting of the Domestic Violence Management Board (DVMB) to review progress on its 2026 workplan and strengthen Ghana’s response to domestic violence.
The meeting assessed activities implemented during the year, discussed priorities for the remainder of 2026, and explored strategic interventions to enhance protection and support for survivors.
Chairperson of the Board, Dr. Miriam Iddrisu, commended members for their dedication, stressing the importance of sustained collaboration among stakeholders to prevent domestic violence and safeguard vulnerable persons.
Presenting updates, Madam Malonin Asibi, Head of the Domestic Violence Secretariat, outlined key achievements and highlighted priorities for the months ahead. She emphasized the need for coordinated action to improve service delivery and ensure survivors receive timely support.
Among the issues discussed were proposals for the establishment of a Domestic Violence Shelter to provide safe refuge and protection for victims of abuse. Members also deliberated on strengthening response mechanisms and promoting the welfare and safety of vulnerable persons nationwide.
The DVMB continues to serve as a critical platform for coordinating policies and interventions aimed at preventing domestic violence and ensuring survivors have access to essential protection and support services.
