BoG Deputy Governor Stresses Leadership in AI-Driven Future

The Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Mrs. Matilda Asante-Asiedu, has underscored leadership as the decisive factor in shaping how artificial intelligence (AI) influences business and society.

Speaking at the GIMPA Business Students Association (GiBSA) Alumni Lecture Series, Mrs. Asante-Asiedu praised the theme, “Shaping Tomorrow’s Leaders: The Role of Artificial Intelligence, Industry, and Business Schools for Enterprise Development.” She noted that enterprise in the AI era will be defined not only by innovation but by responsible leadership.

She urged closer collaboration between industry and academia to advance the ethical use of AI. Industry, she said, must look beyond efficiency to build practical AI solutions that address real-world problems, while business schools should focus on developing leaders with sound judgment grounded in both technology and ethics.

Mrs. Asante-Asiedu emphasized that Ghana’s AI-driven future must be led with purpose, responsibility, and a clear grasp of both economic and human realities.

The lecture series brought together students, alumni, and industry stakeholders to explore how AI can be harnessed for enterprise development while ensuring ethical and sustainable leadership.
