The Inspector‑General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, together with members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), has met with the leadership of the Okada Riders Association of Ghana (ORAG) to discuss their concerns and deepen cooperation between the riders and the Ghana Police Service.
At the engagement, the IGP urged the Association to prioritize road safety by ensuring that members receive proper training in safe riding practices and comply with traffic regulations. He emphasized the need for continuous education on responsible riding to help prevent crashes and promote discipline on the nation’s roads.
Mr. Yohuno further advised the riders to identify themselves properly, ensure that their members are duly registered, and comply with licensing and motorbike registration requirements. He assured ORAG that the Police Administration will continue to engage them and address their concerns to improve cooperation.
The President of ORAG, Mr. Michael Kofi Owusu, expressed the Association’s readiness to collaborate with the Police Service to enhance their operations, promote safety, and support efforts to reduce crime.
The meeting forms part of ongoing initiatives by the Police Administration to strengthen partnerships with stakeholder groups in advancing public safety and order nationwide.
