Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has applauded the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, for his exemplary management of the nation’s lands and natural resources.
During a working visit to the ministry in Accra on Tuesday, January 27, the Vice President commended Mr Buah and his team, noting that she had personally witnessed their dedication.
“Thank you so much for this good story; it can only get better,” she said. “Our job is to encourage you, to congratulate you for what you have done so far, and to encourage you to even do more, and to let you know that we trust what you are doing,” she added.
She stressed that the executive arm of government stands firmly behind the Minister’s initiatives. “We are here to encourage you to think that we are always there for you. We are not in a distant place receiving a report written by faceless people,” the Vice President remarked.
Her comments followed a presentation by Mr Buah, who outlined key programmes, particularly the ministry’s ongoing campaign against illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey.
The Vice President’s engagement at the Lands and Natural Resources Ministry formed part of her series of visits to government institutions, coming after an earlier tour of the Ministry of Sports and Recreation.
