The Ashanti Regional Police Command has confirmed the arrest and arraignment of three suspects in connection with the lynching of Yusuf Zakari at Sabon Zongo, Kumasi.
Police reports indicate that the incident occurred on July 19, 2026, when the victim was attacked at a cattle kraal. He sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
The suspects — Moses Adoko (37, plumber), Abubakari Adams (25, herdsman), and Nurudeen Suleman (35, motor mechanic) — were arraigned before the Asokore Mampong District Court, presided over by Her Worship Mrs. Hilder Esther Wryter, and remanded into police custody until August 7, 2026.
Police say investigations are ongoing and have urged the public to refrain from taking the law into their own hands. The Command has also encouraged residents to provide information through official contact lines to assist in the probe.
In a statement signed by Superintendent of Police Godwin Ahianyo, Head of the Public Affairs Unit, the Service reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring justice through due process and maintaining public safety.
