The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has officially announced the commencement of the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana.
According to a Constitutional Instrument issued from the Office of the Speaker, the session is scheduled to begin at 12 noon on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Parliament House, Accra.
The announcement, made under clause (1) of Article 112 of the Constitution, sets the stage for renewed legislative activity as Members of Parliament reconvene to deliberate on national issues, review bills, and provide oversight on government operations.
The Speaker signed the instrument on January 19, 2026, affirming Parliament’s readiness to resume its duties in the new session. The upcoming sitting is expected to address key policy matters, including economic reforms, infrastructure development, and governance priorities for the year.
Parliamentary observers anticipate a busy calendar as the House tackles pressing national concerns and continues its role in shaping Ghana’s democratic and developmental trajectory.
