President John Dramani Mahama has expressed anticipation for the upcoming State Visit of His Excellency Emmerson Mnangagwa, President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, scheduled for April 1–3, 2026.
The visit, which will be marked by full military honours and a State Banquet in Accra, celebrates the enduring historical ties between Ghana and Zimbabwe, rooted in shared sacrifices during Africa’s liberation struggles. Ghana’s support for Zimbabwe’s independence remains a proud legacy that continues to shape bilateral relations today.
During the three-day engagement, President Mahama and President Mnangagwa will hold high-level talks at Peduase Lodge, including a private tête-à-tête and delegation discussions. The talks will focus on strengthening cooperation in trade, tourism, agriculture, healthcare, sanitation, and joint efforts to tackle corruption and unemployment.
The two leaders are expected to witness the signing of key Memoranda of Understanding to advance mutual interests. President Mnangagwa will also tour the Sweden Ghana Medical Centre and the Accra Compost and Recycling Plant, and pay homage at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park by laying a wreath at the tomb of Ghana’s founding father.
The State Visit underscores the deep-rooted ties between Ghana and Zimbabwe and reaffirms both nations’ commitment to advancing a strategic partnership for sustainable development.
