President Mahama Leads Salary Donation to Ghana Medical Trust Fund

 President John Dramani Mahama has fulfilled a pledge made at the launch of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (MahamaCares), donating six months of his basic salary to support the initiative. He was joined by government appointees, who contributed one month of their basic salaries, bringing the total donation to GHS 6,102,737.80.

The contribution was officially presented to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund on Monday by Deputy Chief of Staff (Administration), Nana Oye Bampoe Addo.

Receiving the donation, Administrator of the Fund, Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, expressed appreciation for the gesture and commended the commitment demonstrated towards supporting Ghanaians in need of specialist medical care.

Speaking at the presentation, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo reaffirmed government’s dedication to assisting citizens facing serious health challenges. She encouraged individuals, institutions, and corporate bodies to participate in sustaining the Fund, which is designed to provide financial support for advanced medical treatment.

The Ghana Medical Trust Fund, launched under the MahamaCares initiative, aims to strengthen access to specialist healthcare and reduce the financial burden on patients requiring critical medical interventions.
