President Mahama Begins High-Level Visit to London

President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in London for a high-level visit that features a royal audience with King Charles III and a breakfast meeting with British Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer.

He was warmly received at the airport by Lord Katz MBE of the Royal Household, H.E. Gordon Wetherell, Special Representative of the Secretary of State for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), and Ghana’s High Commissioner to the UK and Ireland, H.E. Sabah Zita Benson.

The visit is expected to deepen Ghana–UK bilateral relations, position Ghana as a premier investment destination, and strengthen engagement with the Ghanaian diaspora.

As part of his itinerary, President Mahama will tonight attend a diaspora town hall meeting hosted by the Ghana High Commission in London. On Monday morning, he will open the Ghana–UK Investment Summit at Raffles, a central feature of the visit designed to attract foreign direct investment and foster partnerships between Ghanaian entrepreneurs and British investors.

The President will also showcase Ghana’s growing presence in global financial markets as a guest at the London Stock Exchange, where he will ring the bell to mark the official start of trading. He is scheduled to deliver an address at Chatham House and a keynote speech at the 12th Africa Debate at the Guildhall, London.

President Mahama’s visit to London will conclude on June 3.
