Police Restore Calm in Sampa After Chieftaincy-Related Violence

The Ghana Police Service has restored calm in Sampa following violent chieftaincy disturbances on 10th September 2025, which left one person dead and several others injured.

In response to the unrest, the Inspector-General of Police ordered the deployment of reinforcement teams to the town to stabilize the situation. Security has since been beefed up, with intensified patrols in Sampa and surrounding communities to prevent further violence.

Police say the swift intervention was aimed at protecting lives and property, while ensuring that peace is maintained in the wake of the clashes. Investigations into the incident are ongoing, with authorities assuring the public that those responsible will be brought to justice.

The disturbances are the latest in a series of chieftaincy-related tensions in parts of the country, prompting renewed calls for dialogue and conflict resolution mechanisms to address underlying disputes.
