Parliament has adopted the Public Accounts Committee’s (PAC) report on the Auditor‑General’s follow‑up performance audit covering small‑scale mining regulation, the sustainability of sports stadia, and the administration of GETFund scholarships.
Presenting the report, PAC Chairperson Hon. Abena Osei Asare noted that while many recommendations from the 2019 performance audit have been implemented, some remain partially addressed or outstanding. She urged the House to adopt the report and its recommendations to strengthen accountability and improve public sector performance.
The adoption of the report underscores Parliament’s commitment to ensuring that critical sectors such as mining, sports infrastructure, and educational funding are managed transparently and sustainably. Members emphasized that full implementation of the Auditor‑General’s recommendations is essential to safeguard national resources and enhance service delivery.
