The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has disbursed GH₵1 million to six hospitals under the free dialysis intervention program. The payment covers advance funding for September and arrears for July and August 2024.

– Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH): GH₵186,670.00
– Cape Coast Teaching Hospital (CCTH)
– Efia Nkwanta Regional Hospital (ENRH)
– Ho Teaching Hospital (HTH)
– Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH)
– Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH)
Program Impact:
– Increased accessibility of dialysis services across regions since June
– Full reimbursement expected for patients who paid out-of-pocket in July and August
– Free dialysis sessions for:
– Patients under 18 and over 60: 8 sessions/month
– Patients 19-59: 2 sessions/month (except at KBTH, where NHIA covers 50% of 2 sessions)
The NHIA’s program aims to ensure affordable dialysis treatment for patients in need.
