Minister for Interior Calls for Strategic Focus at Annual Performance Review Workshop

The Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mubarak, has called for an open and strategic focus in strengthening security governance and accountability at the 2025 Annual Performance Review Workshop for agencies under the Ministry of the Interior. The workshop, held at the Aqua Safari Resort in Ada, was themed “Strengthening Security Governance, Accountability, and Service Delivery through Performance Review and Strategic Alignment.”

Addressing participants, the Minister highlighted notable gains achieved over the past year, including stronger inter-agency collaboration, progress in digitisation, and improvements in emergency response. He also acknowledged persistent challenges such as evolving crime trends, border security pressures, and heightened public scrutiny regarding accountability and human rights.

Mr. Mubarak urged heads of agencies to approach the review process with transparency and strategic focus, using the workshop as a platform to sharpen coordination and reaffirm their collective responsibility to deliver security services that inspire public confidence and support national development.

The workshop brought together all agencies under the Ministry of the Interior, with the Deputy Minister and the Chief Director of the Ministry also in attendance.
