MFA Undertakes Modern Refurbishment of Kotoka VIP Lounge

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has commenced a major refurbishment of the VIP Lounge at Kotoka International Airport, aimed at giving the facility a modern transformation that reflects Ghana’s hospitality and cultural identity.

The project, which falls under the purview of the Ministry, is designed to enhance the first impressions of high-profile guests, diplomats, investors, and eminent tourists arriving in the country.

Speaking during an inspection visit on Saturday ahead of the Ministry’s retreat, officials emphasized the importance of presenting Ghana at its best. “The VIP Lounge often creates the first impression for our distinguished visitors, so it is important that we put our best foot forward,” the Ministry noted.

The refurbishment is being undertaken at no cost to the Ghanaian taxpayer, with funding secured through sponsorship from corporate Ghana as part of their corporate social responsibility and contribution to President Mahama’s Reset Agenda.

The project is expected to be completed within four months. Upon completion, local creatives will be invited to infuse the lounge with an impressive Ghanaian outlook. In addition, the facility will serve exclusively Made-in-Ghana food, promoting the country’s indigenous culinary sector.

The initiative underscores government’s commitment to strengthening Ghana’s image internationally while supporting local industries and cultural expression.
