The Kotobabi District Police Command has arrested a 33-year-old man in connection with an alleged assault following a motor accident at Maamobi.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on Saturday, February 22, 2026, when the victim, Yakubu Manan Abdul, aged 24, was involved in a collision with the suspect, identified as Razak Kwanda. Preliminary investigations indicate that during the course of the accident, the suspect allegedly attacked and assaulted the victim, causing injuries.
A police patrol team on duty in the area assisted the victim, conveying him and his damaged motorbike to the Kotobabi Police Station, where a formal complaint was lodged. Investigations subsequently led to the arrest of the suspect on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at about 9:45 a.m. He is currently on police enquiry bail and assisting with ongoing investigations.
The Accra Regional Police Command has cautioned the public against resorting to violence in the event of traffic accidents or disputes. It urged motorists and pedestrians alike to remain calm and allow the appropriate authorities to handle such matters in accordance with the law.
The Command further assured the public of its commitment to maintaining law and order and encouraged anyone with relevant information to support the ongoing investigations.
