Let’s not rush Muntari back to Black Stars – Nyaho Tamakloe

Despite a strong start to his Ghana Premier League return, Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe, a board member of Hearts of Oak, has requested that Sulley Muntari is not hurried into the Black Stars lineup.

Since joining Hearts in February, Muntari has appeared in five games for the club, starting all but one of the Phobians’ league games.

The 37-year-old was also instrumental in the Rainbow club’s 2022 President’s Cup victory over Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium.

His exploits have sparked widespread appeals for the former Inter Milan midfielder to be recalled to the national team for the upcoming double-header against Nigeria in the race to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

However, Nyaho Tamakloe, a former teammate of Muntari’s, has stated that the time is not right for him to return to the national team.

“I worked with Sulley Muntari in 2004 when he was with the U23 squad. I was then the GFA boss. [It is clear that he is doing well] but let’s not rush him back to the team. I believe when the time is right, Sulley himself would know it and decide on it,” he told Asempa FM in an interview.
