The management of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) has issued an official statement addressing claims made by musician Mzbel in a widely circulated social media video.
In the video, Mzbel alleged that her relative passed away due to the unavailability of a hospital bed at KBTH. The hospital’s management, in a release dated July 7, 2026, acknowledged the seriousness of the allegation and assured the public that it is investigating the matter thoroughly.
The statement emphasized that KBTH treats all patient care complaints with urgency and transparency. It noted that efforts are underway to contact Mzbel and her family directly to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Management also referenced national directives that prohibit public hospitals from refusing emergency care, reaffirming that KBTH adheres strictly to these guidelines. The release further outlined the hospital’s complaint submission channels, encouraging the public to use them for any grievances.
Expressing condolences to the bereaved family, KBTH pledged to conduct a fair and professional investigation while maintaining its commitment to quality service delivery.
