The Country Director of the German Development Cooperation (GIZ), Dr. Dirk Assman, has bid farewell to the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry after a successful tenure in Ghana.
At a brief ceremony held on Monday, 8th June 2026, the Chief Director of the Ministry, Mr. Noah Tumfo, speaking on behalf of the Sector Minister, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, expressed profound appreciation to Dr. Assman for his invaluable contributions. He highlighted GIZ’s support in strengthening Ghana’s textiles and garments sector, advancing pharmaceutical initiatives, building staff and industry capacity, promoting digital trade, and supporting the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat.
In his remarks, Dr. Assman thanked the Government of Ghana and the Ministry for their collaboration and support throughout his tenure. He assured that the partnership between GIZ and the Ministry would continue, with both sides committed to achieving greater mutual benefit and sustainable development.
The farewell event underscored the enduring cooperation between Ghana and GIZ, reflecting shared priorities in industrial growth, trade facilitation, and regional integration.
