The High Commissioner of Ghana to the United Kingdom, Her Excellency Sabah Zita Benson, has officially presented her Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Charles III at St James’s Palace.
The ceremony underscored the rich bilateral and historic relations between Ghana and the United Kingdom, while marking a significant milestone in Ghana’s diplomatic history. Her Excellency Benson becomes the first female High Commissioner to the UK since Ghana’s independence in 1957.
In a historic note, she is also the first High Commissioner to be received by the King at St James’s Palace since 1910, when King Edward VII last presided over such a presentation.
Her Excellency’s appointment and formal accreditation reflect Ghana’s commitment to strengthening ties with the UK, while celebrating the growing role of women in diplomacy and governance.
