The Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Qatar has issued an urgent notice announcing an emergency evacuation exercise for Ghanaian nationals residing in the Gulf state. The decision comes in response to heightened security concerns across the region.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Embassy confirmed that the Government of Ghana has authorized the evacuation as a precautionary measure. Officials emphasized that the arrangement is strictly one-way, with evacuees being transported directly to Ghana.

Ghanaians wishing to participate in the evacuation have been instructed to re-confirm their interest by submitting the biodata page of their passports via email to the Embassy no later than Tuesday, March 17, 2026. The Embassy underscored the importance of meeting the deadline to ensure inclusion in the evacuation process.
The announcement follows an earlier advisory issued on March 6, 2026, warning citizens of escalating tensions in the region. While details of the security situation were not disclosed, the Embassy’s latest directive signals a significant escalation in precautionary measures.
The Embassy of Ghana in Doha has provided contact numbers and email addresses for further inquiries, urging citizens to act swiftly. Officials reiterated that the evacuation is intended to safeguard Ghanaian nationals and ensure their safe return home amid the uncertain regional climate.
